The Lemonade Project

The Lemonade Project...

...for when life gives you lemons

The Lemonade Project is about building resilience in young people in young people who are experiencing low levels of emotional wellbeing.

The Lemonade Project is based on the Boingboing Resilience Framework.

The Tough Times Toolkit

A range of interactive, engaging activities designed to be used by small groups of young people and suitable from age 8 upwards. It covers six main chapters addressing many of the issues in the ‘Resilience Framework’, for example emotional literacy, self esteem and identity, and dealing with challenge.

The Lemonade Resource Book

A range of interactive, engaging activities designed to be used by small groups of young people and suitable from age 8 upwards. It covers six main chapters addressing many of the issues in the ‘Resilience Framework’, for example emotional literacy, self esteem and identity, and dealing with challenge.

The Life and Lemons Journal

An interactive resilience journal for young people aged 11+. We believe that the best way this journal can be used is to allow the young person to take it way, use in their own time, and then meet back to discuss any issues that it might have raised in a safe space with a parent/teacher or trusted adult. (and check our "My Brilliant Place to be Me!" journal for use with KS2)

Is talking to young people about mental health and wellbeing 'opening a can of worms'?

The Tough Times Toolkit, really caught our attention when we first discovered Lemonade because it spoke to something we hear a lot.

Many health professionals, teachers, parents and youth workers do not feel confident or qualified enough to talk about difficult subjects such as mental health with young people. Often, they worry about saying the wrong thing, or accidentally ‘making things worse’. The Tough Times Toolkit was designed to support those who work with young people to engage in better conversations around mental health, and feel reassured that they are not saying ‘anything wrong’.
