The Council's Business Plan

The Council's Business Plan sets out an overarching mission: 

Working with communities for a carbon neutral Cornwall, where everyone can start well, live well and age well

Underpinning the mission are four priority outcomes. 

• A brilliant place to be a child and grow up
• A thriving, sustainable Cornwall that offers a secure home, a decent income and a great environment for all
• Vibrant, safe, supportive communities where people help each other to live well
• All supported by an empowering and enterprising Council that secures great value for money and provides a consistently excellent customer experience.

This means we are determined to make Cornwall a place where every child can grow up:

• Mentally and physically healthy
• Enjoying, learning and achieving
• Living in safety and with stability
• Accessing good jobs and a great environment
• Belonging and contributing as part of a society which respects their rights

Supporting "a brilliant place"

We believe that 'a brilliant place' is an inspired and inspirational outcome. Everything that Headstart does alongside the work of our colleagues across Together for Families and beyond in the council is  linked to 'a brilliant place'. We are keen to celebrate and share the outcome with everyone we work with, especially children and families. That's why "My Brilliant Place to be ME!" was created.
